Cecil Dale Woodside

Cecil Dale Woodside, 72, of Tamaroa, passed away at 6:51 A.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2002 in rural Tamaroa.
Cecil was a retired mine examiner last working for Consol Coal Co. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tamaroa. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the UMW of A and the Du Quoin VFW Post 513.
He was born February 6, 1930 at Sunfield, IL the son of James and Amanda (Elder) Woodside.
He married Colleen Heape on April 30, 1951 at Tamaroa, IL, she passed away June 28, 1988.
He is survived by a son- Mike Woodside and wife Marilyn of Tamaroa, daughter- Terry Szczepanski and husband Lawrence Jr. of Tamaroa, three grandchildren- Brent, Kyle and Lacy Woodside, three sisters- Helen Wynn of Du Quoin, Lillian Downen of Tamaroa, Mabel Weisel and husband James of Tamaroa, brother- Richard Woodside and wife Sharon of Du Quoin, special friend- Nancy Williamson, three sisters-in-law- Gusty Woodside of Tamaroa, Wilma Woodside of Du Quoin, Clara Bell Woodside of Pinckneyville, brother-in-law- Bill Huggins of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 12, 2002 at the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa with his nephew Rev. Thad Woodside officiating.
Friends called from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at the cemetery.
The Searby Funeral Home of Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
Interment was in the Paradise Cemetery.

Military graveside rites were conducted by Du Quoin VFW Post 513.
